"Hunter Smith has an uncanny gift which allows him to somehow know where the animals are and how they got there. If it means wading through waist deep water or walking five miles, Hunter will find the game! I have never known anyone with such keen primitive instincts with an inner spirit which drives him to keep going back for more. It is a real pleasure to have the rare opportunity to hunt with a genuine woodsman who holds true to old fashioned methods and beliefs most hunters of today have forgotten. As a hunter, you will never have a more complete hunting experience – if you pay close attention, you can walk away from the hunt with much more than just meat on the table."

"I have hunted and fished with Hunter Smith for a generation. His knowledge of the woods and waters (sweet and salt) is uncanny. He has the ability to hear and see creatures long before most experienced outdoorsmen would know they were in the area. This skill along with his focused hunting work ethic has produced turkeys in my lap I would not otherwise have seen – he has walked whitetails by me close enough to touch them – he has put me in the midst (literally) of wild hogs numerous times, sometimes with hilarious results. We have shared beaches in the spring and fall fishing for channel bass, offshore trips that produced outstanding results on big dolphin on an 8 wt, blackwater sloughs off the lowcountry rivers catching redbreast and largemouths on flies, and hunted everything from doves to hogs. This is a great guy to spend time with – his effort to provide his sports with unique hunting and fishing experiences is unsurpassed and you will laugh frequently. He is a skilled cook and raconteur, so the drinks and dinner that end your day will be superb. Obviously I admire this man – you will too."

"Hunting the Low Country of South Carolina is an experience in gamefilled natural beauty. I have been in many hunting camps.  Just being in Hunter and Capt.Tony's presence, not only in camp and afield, the absorbing of their combined knowledge, woodsmanship and history is nonstop.  All that good stuff just keeps comming at you along with some of the best laughs I've had in years.  I have fished and hunted with Hunter and Tony for a few years. The fresh water fishing is unbelievable. I am sure I caught the state record bluegill.  Yet, as we were camping, had plenty of fish already to eat , I released the trophy.  I also had not tasted such good tasting fresh water fish. Where we were, the stream was fed by an underground flow of water, surfacing and flowing toward the main river.  Every place I have hunted with Hunter, I have had multiple opportunities at good bucks and gobblers that roar instead of gobble. One episode I had 3 buck opportunities in two days. I did take one. Unbelievable!  What else can I say? I can not wait for the next episode of hunting with Riverland!"

"I have had the pleasure of hunting and fishing with Riverland Guide Service a number of times. If a big buck, loud gobbler, big hog, sitting in a duck hole, or just witnessing animals operate in a natural, undistured habitat is your desire, you are in the right place. Being with Hunter and Tony in the woods will be a tremendous experience for you and yours. However, this is not your standard guide operation. These guys are tremendous craftsman and take great pride in the South Carolina low lands. You will learn woodmanship, history of the lowlands, and witness some of the most beautiful things God has ever created. When you come, bring your bow, a lot of arrows, a camera and a big cooler, you're gonna need it! I can't wait for my next trip with RGS."

"I highly recommend a lowcountry excursion with Hunter Smith and Riverland Guide Service. During my Saturday deer and hog hunt, I was not just a paying entity being stuck in a treestand to watch a foodplot or cornpile, whiling away the hours with a good book, but instead was actively engaged in slip-hunting from the ground in an unspoiled wilderness. I saw firsthand and learned to recognize the kind of habitat whitetails and wild hogs are drawn to and I can honestly say that I have never, ever, ever seen so much dominant buck sign (rub after rub after rub in one area) in my thirty-one years of woods. Hunter Smith made that day fun beyond belief and we were in big deer territory the whole day while also finding fresh hog sign at every uncanny turn we made in the woods. I passed up an AM shot at a deer just so the fun would continue! And it did, all day long, until we came upon some hogs and I made my first kill. I left those woods not only with some fine wild pork but with a better knowledge of the South Carolina lowcountry woods. I will definitely be going back."
